How We Score Payout Confidence

The four public signals behind our 1–5 payout confidence index — and the self-reported numbers we deliberately refuse to use.

Prop-firm.trading Research · Jul 27, 2026 · 5 min read

Every firm page on this site shows a payout confidence score out of five. This is exactly how it is computed — no more, no less.

The four factors

  • Published payout speed (up to 1.5 pts): on demand or daily scores highest, monthly lowest, and a firm that publishes no clear schedule is scored down for the ambiguity itself.
  • Track record (up to 1 pt): years in operation, because surviving payout obligations across market cycles is evidence marketing cannot fake.
  • Trustpilot today (up to 1.5 pts): the live score, read directly from the page — never a cached or self-reported figure. A suspended rating scores the minimum.
  • Payout reputation in reviews (up to 1 pt): our monthly review scan classifies each firm’s payout themes as praised, mixed or criticised, based only on what reviewers recur about being paid.

What we refuse to count

Total payout figures announced by firms themselves. No auditor verifies them, so they carry no evidential weight here — whatever the press release says.

Where you see it
The score appears on every firm page with its factor breakdown, as a sortable column in the comparison table, and as a 15-point weight inside the simulation’s match score.

How often does it update?

Trustpilot and prices are re-checked weekly by an automated scan; the review-theme classification is regenerated monthly. Every change is versioned.
